There’s a reason for holidays being so stressful, and it’s far from a bedtime story. Holiday stress is overwhelming

It’s Hard to Feel Ignored
More and more, I find that people have lost compassion for one another. Your thoughts are disregarded and you feel that what matters to you is ignored, and it’s not even so much from strangers, but rather from those that you know well.
I’m Sorry
Saying I’m sorry can be pretty powerful words to say, especially since apologies are a sign of empathy. At the same time, over-apologizing, or excessively saying sorry when you don’t need to could also hurt your self-esteem.
Can I Trust You?
One of the hardest things to deal with is trust. I find this to be true with friendships. It’s not easy to know who you can let into your life. As I get older, my circle of friendships has become less and less. I find there isn’t loyalty anymore, and that takes away my ability to trust a person. The definition of loyal is an allegiance to a government, institution, religion, cause, product, or person. Being loyal is about giving constant support to another person. At the same time, there needs to be a motivation to have loyalty.
The Silent Treatment
One of the hardest parts of life is the moment that we realize that we are being ignored. For whatever reason, it feels like being ignored seems more scary and intense than having someone argue with you.
Seeing Things Differently
In every relationship, there comes a time when problems arise. We just see things differently, and sometimes, we have trouble working things out. It can be between any two people, but the effects of disagreements have the same effect on us.
True Friends
Sometimes realizing who you’re true friends are is the hardest and most unpleasant experiences. It’s a hurtful experience to have to go through, but in the long run, it’s good to know who you can and can’t depend on in life.
Finding True Serendipity
Society has a funny way of making its demands known to people, that at times, it seems challenging to make decisions on our own. One demand, in particular, is that we need to be married. It isn’t often that I meet people who say that they wish to find a good job, buy a home, and stay single. It always seems to be the opposite. They want to find a good job and buy a home and get married. Why do we put so much pressure on ourselves to be in a relationship or to get married?
Our Grandparents
Grandparents have a way of bringing unity to the family. Either it is through daily phone calls to weekly meals, it was about spending time together. There is the chance to teach family values, instill ethnic heritage, and to pass on those traditions to family members so that they can be carried on.
Notion of Remembering
Loss comes at different seasons of our lives and for different reasons. It triggers an emotion within ourselves as a result of some life circumstance. There are many who believe that mourning is best when we find closure, but the idea of getting over it and the extent of the emotions triggered is a myth. I’m not sure if we really ever get over the loss of someone, as much as we learn to cope.
