Have you ever met someone, either on social media or in person, and immediately realize that this was the person that has influenced you in some way, you just want to get to know them better. Maybe not in the way that many people would categorize “getting to know someone.” It could be a friendship, or perhaps for some it could be something more, but whatever that feeling takes you, it’s really about the idea of meeting someone that brings you to wanting to be a better person than you are today.

Our Grandparents
Grandparents have a way of bringing unity to the family. Either it is through daily phone calls to weekly meals, it was about spending time together. There is the chance to teach family values, instill ethnic heritage, and to pass on those traditions to family members so that they can be carried on.
Notion of Remembering
Loss comes at different seasons of our lives and for different reasons. It triggers an emotion within ourselves as a result of some life circumstance. There are many who believe that mourning is best when we find closure, but the idea of getting over it and the extent of the emotions triggered is a myth. I’m not sure if we really ever get over the loss of someone, as much as we learn to cope.
Fearing Change
When thinking about fear, it is a vital response to what we see and feel. If we didn’t feel fear we wouldn’t know how to protect ourselves from potential threats. Today, our common fears have to do with the ability to impress others, and how their judgments affect our self-worth. This is especially true with so many people using social media. However, here is something that many may not talk about, and that’s how fear comes out of anxiety.
Finding Home
Common interests that bring people together, stressful situations, shared values, and having the ability to support and encourage another person is what draws people together. It’s what brings us to make friends and to be worthy of being called a friend.
Keeping Love Alive
An all-time favorite movie about a screenwriter who falls in love with a famous bachelor, it’s one of the few movies that I can’t resist watching. There is an excitement and hope that even through the ups and downs of their relationship, in the end, I hope that they will be together. That’s what love is about. Getting through the ups and downs of life and through it all, we remain together. At least this is what I’ve told myself so many times, but the truth feels that we have forgotten about real love and replaced it with the fantasy of being in love. Are we just pushing love away, or is that we have fallen out of the idea of being in love?
Riding a Bike
Life is filled with changes every day. Some of those changes are most difficult to go through than others, but I also think about how that change affects the person’s daily living. What I mean by this thinking is that changing your hair color over changing careers may be easier to manage. It comes down…
Living by Possibilities, Not Guarantees
One of the hardest things that I found is not being able to have control over everything in life. It’s not the circumstances that get to me, but people and their actions that tends to be the hardest. There is that fear that by losing control, than something bad could happen. A bad review, an argument, or not getting the relationships that you want in life.
Making Tough Decisions
Over the years, I have had to make two difficult decisions for me. The first was deciding where I would live, and the second being what type of career that I would pursue. I’ve had to reinvent myself over the years. I went to college to become a private practice counselor. Although instead, I have found my greatest passion to be in writing. My hope is to write full-time someday.
Taking a Chance
Risks are different for each person. There are some who are fearless and will take the chance on any adventure. Skydiving or even swimming with the sharks allows them to take chances. Others are less likely when faced with these challenges. Truth is that many of us are great with evaluating risks.
